Wayne Edwin McDonagh of Lucknow, died at his home, Oct. 31, 2022, surrounded by his girls. Right where he wanted to be, after a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. He was 60. Wayne was a builder. A builder of the community, a builder of a tight-knit family, a builder of life-long friendships and a builder of a successful business. Everything he built was built with a kind, humble generous heart which can be seen through years of volunteering and advising for many organizations and committees, including the local fire department, the Lucknow Kinsmen, Lucknow Minor Sports, Spruce the Bruce, and Music in the Fields, as well as several insurance industry advisory boards in his career as owner of McDonagh Insurance Brokers Ltd. where he worked proudly for the past 38 years. Wayne leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn; four daughters, Breanne (Chase) Chapman, Hilary (Brock) Gignac, Robin (Mason) Lippold, and Bailey (Josh) Dyjack; and his grandchildren, whom “Papa” loved deeply, Blake, Addison, Brett, Riley, Wells and Aubree. Also survived by his loving parents, Barry and Betty McDonagh. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Mike and Kim McDonagh, Tracey and Steve Simpson, Rick and Tammy Taylor, and Brian Taylor. Remembered by many nieces and nephews, their families, and many extended family members whom he held close to his heart. Wayne was predeceased by his mother- and father-in-law, Margaret and Bill Taylor, and his brother-in-law, Brad Taylor. Wayne will not only be missed by his family but so many others whose life he impacted throughout his journey. Visitation will be held at the Lucknow Community Centre, Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, from 5-8 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, from 1-2:30 p.m., followed by a celebration of Wayne’s life at 3 p.m. Casual attire is fine - Wayne would want you to come in whatever you were comfortable in.
