Reader wonders if our MPP is living in a fantasy world

February 8, 2023

Having read Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson’s latest column, I have to wonder if she is living in a fantasy world or if she thinks the residents of Huron-Bruce are living in a vacuum.

The Ontario government has released “Your Health: A Plan for Connected and Convenient Care” which focuses on providing us with a better health-care experience by connecting us to more convenient options closer to home while shortening wait times and growing the health-care workforce.

Sounds like a lot of hokum. Premier Doug Ford’s government is always promising things but nothing seems to change.

There are nurses in the riding, who for various reasons, are not interested in working in the local hospitals. That’s why emergency rooms at area hospitals have had to close this winter. That’s also the reason the South Bruce Grey Health Centre is running a deficit – it has had to hire agency nurses.

Our MPP should shed her rose-coloured glasses and start asking her government some hard questions. Isn’t our MPP elected to represent us, not spout the party line?
