Local rock band, “21 and 9,” in running to play Tall Pines Festival in Muskoka

March 19, 2024

Kincardine rockers “21 and 9,” fresh off playing a sold-out concert series opener at Bar Down this past Saturday, are in the running to play the Tall Pines Festival at Gull Lake Park in Muskoka.

The contest, sponsored by 89.1, Max FM, is an on-line voting “battle of the bands.” The Tall Pines Festival is headlined this year by “City and Colour” and “July Talk.”

Johnny Culbert (right), bassist for the band, urges fans to vote.

“We feel extremely fortunate to have made the preliminary list, and we need the support of our community, which we dearly love, to make this dream a reality,” he says. “We are so thankful for the people who come to our shows and listen to our music, and we hope to make Kincardine proud.”

“21 and 9” opened for “Glass Tiger” at last summer’s Kincardine Scottish Festival, and was recently featured in RRAMPT magazine, distributed throughout Bruce and Grey counties.

The band is currently booking shows for the spring/summer/fall. More information can be found on the website at: 21and9.com or on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/21and9.
